Shoot and star in a professionally-produced short film in 3 days.​

We’re keeping the story under wraps to preserve the creative experience, but it’s a dramatic, collaborative project that blends imagination, teamwork, and real storytelling skills. A Note on Content The script will be written to UK 12 certification standards — the kind of comedy they'd see at the cinema with their mates on a Saturday afternoon. Expect age-appropriate humour, a sprinkling of mild language used for laughs, and themes pitched squarely at teenagers rather than younger children. Funny, never crude. Yes, the final film will be edited professionally and shared with participants as a private link first. By enrolling in the Super 8 Film in 3 Days project, you agree that photographs and video footage taken during the workshop may be used for promotional purposes, including on our website, social media, and in industry-facing materials (e.g. trailers, stills, IMDb submissions, and behind-the-scenes content). This is a core part of the programme, and participation indicates acceptance of this use.

Absolutely. We welcome all experience levels. This project is designed to support and stretch each participant at their own pace, with a supportive atmosphere and lots of encouragement. There are both on-camera and behind-the-camera roles available.

We want to make the workshop accessible to as many young people as possible, but we also need to be honest about what the environment requires — outdoor filming, stairs and un-even ground, technical equipment/cables, and fast-paced direction. If your child has additional needs, please get in touch before booking and we can talk through whether this specific workshop is right for them, or whether another opportunity might suit better.

Yes. Safety is our top priority. All staff are DBS-checked and experienced in working with young people on location. Risk assessments will be carried out in advance, and we’ll brief all participants on safe, respectful conduct throughout the shoot.

Yes, can be used as Showreel material, but with a little context. The film we'll be making has a budget of over £4,000, and will be entered into festivals. If the film meets IMDb's criteria—participants will gain a legitimate screen credit. Super 8 is also a recognised production company, which means all bases are covered in terms of industry recognition, including eligibility for a Spotlight credit. In terms of showreel use, the material can absolutely be used—especially as part of a wider reel. Every participant will have lines and moments on screen, and the final film will be professionally edited with production value in mind. However, because I’ll be distributing screen time as equally as possible, and the film is an ensemble piece, it won’t be tailored like the custom showreels I produce—which are built around one actor, with a clear arc and strong close-ups designed to showcase range and screen presence.
